Bill of Rights Poster
Publication + Poster Design
Overview
The concept of the Bill of Rights broadside is exclusion. Frankly, the Bill of Rights does not protect and cover all American people, at the time it was created, the rules only applied to white men. This excluded women, African-Americans, and other minorities. Even though our society has progressed, women, immigrants, and other minorities still face unfairness every day.
Typography
For the display typeface, Arial Black was used because of its heavy and consistent size and in order to have a simple and bold look for the exclusion stencil effect. As for the body copy, Futura medium used in order to match the modern exclusion concept. Using an old-fashioned, or ornate typeface would not support the concept.
